He goes out and re-signs arbitration eligible and soon to be free agent veterans to deals without my knowledge at higher prices than I could re-sign them for including players on the decline in their early to mid 30's who are over-priced that I planned to let walk so I could promote young talent.

Now, to the the straw that broke the camel's back. I have a future hall of famer that I've had since he signed as an international free agent. He's a stud hitter but can only play DH. After 9 seasons with me, I was going to let him walk but the owner made it a goal to re-sign him. I waited until the end of spring training, when no one else would match his offer, to finally re-sign him to a 3 year deal to make him the highest paid player in the game. He was very good for the 3 years on that deal but I was ready to let him go again because I had younger, cheaper options that I could plug in at DH. Instead, during the final year of his deal, my owner signs him to a 5 year deal that runs until he's 38. He took a pay cut, but he is still in the top 10 in the league.

He had another great year in the first year of the deal, but now my idiot owner wants me to get rid of him because he's a clubhouse distraction. Well, he's been with me for 13 years so he is a 10/5 player and can't be traded. So now I'm stuck with a guy for 4 more years that myself and the owner don't want now due to nothing I did.

I guess I may turn the 10/5 rule off temporarily just to trade him but I feel that's cheating. Is there any way to get rid of an owner???? It's making me not want to play and I don't want to start over. I'm in season 40 of this latest franchise. I guess I could move on and take another job but I love what I've built.

Oh well, sorry for the rant, but I needed to vent.
Here's what I would do. Dont trade him if you were never going to resign him. Go into commish mode, then the editor and make him a free agent. Then edit your owner to be hands off.

Ultimately, this is your game. And if your fun is being impacted by a game mechanism that is not fun for you, then change it. No one will judge you for it
