In the game career ending injuries will take out players at a young age who historically were stars with long careers. Someone should step in for them. Development can make that happen. Here's someone who did. Second screen shot is game stats, third is real life.

I take out career enders in my games, but set injuries to Normal (OOTP Classic), which can still be quite brutal for injuries. Saberhagen's headed to the Hall for sure, but he's getting murdered by injuries in my latest RD game. Injuries force teams to use players they might not normally use, which can have interesting results. On a season by season basis, it can annihilate teams. I saw the Browns give up 1,297 runs one year, and over 1,000 the next because of them. Now they've made the playoffs four straight years, so hardships (plus sweet draft picks) build character I guess? The message to the AI is clear. Build up yer depth dammit!
One pitcher and one hitter from my OOTP16 63 season game. I can hear David Watts screaming about 19th century pitchers from here, but here they are. The numbers produced by the player in game come first, and his RL numbers are second.
