There is a setting, where you can turn off coaches. I think that's it. I turned it off because, to me, it's not fun getting into a bidding war for the best pitching coach, etc.. Anyhow, a nice side benefit of turning off coaches is that it eliminates the useless assistant GM. There's also a setting I found that tells the game when to notify you for emails. I set mine to only notify me for injuries. So now I don't get a notification for a dumb trade offer.
Note, I would not mind the ludicrous trade offers if occasionally one actually made sense. For example, I'm a rebuilding team, someone offers me a "B" prospect for one of my starting pitchers.. Or I'm a contender, someone asks me for a "B" prospect for a veteran that can help me. But it's annoying when the AI asks me to trade the best player on my team for a 4th OF. If I got 2 or 3 reasonable trade offers a year, and let's say maybe a dozen silly ones, then it would be worth reading that email. As the game stands today.. a complete waste of time to read those emails.
