Sometimes it takes a little break to recharge the creative juices. But the Foresters are back with vengeance but first a bit of mediocrity in what was a very strong season.
The Forester's through August 12th had gone a very blasé 6-5 and held a 5 1/2 game lead over the Brooklyn Kings (down from a high of 8 just a week ago). Things were going to look a lot worse by the time the key end of the month series took place in Brooklyn.

The Forester's seemingly had taken their foot off the gas pedal as going into that key series they played 500 ball going 7-7 and showing a 78-45 record. The lead in the CA was down to just 2 games prior to the 3 game series in Brooklyn.

August 13th-August 27th games/scores
August 13th - Cleveland 3 @ Philadelphia 6
August 14th - Cleveland 1 @ Philadelphia 2
August 15th - Travel Day

Comments - So we conclude a very poor series in Philadelphia losing 3 of 4 to the Sailors (58-53). In what has been an up and down but plainly just middle of the road for the Sailors they have had our number this year leading the season series 10-8. At this point they are the only team in the CA with a 500 record or better against us. Next we head off to Baltimore where we have at least been dominate against the rebuilding Cannons going 11-3 on the season.

August 16th - Cleveland 6 @ Baltimore 7
August 17th - Cleveland 15 @ Baltimore 1
August 18th - Cleveland 11 @ Baltimore 10 (11)
August 19th - Cleveland 8 @ Baltimore 6

Comments - Losing the first one we then turned it on and beat the Cannons the next 3 games. Still taking 3 out of 4 against a team that will likely lose 100+ games this season. So feeling overconfident is not something the team should be feeling. Our lead in the CA is currently 3 games and everything is pointing to the show down in Brooklyn in a little over a week.

August 20th - Cleveland 6 @ Montreal 1 (11)
August 21st - Cleveland 3 @ Montreal 1
August 22nd - Cleveland 6 @ Montreal 7
August 23rd - Cleveland 5 @ Montreal 3

Summary - The road trip continued and we took 3 out of 4 against the Saints who are falling in the CA once again. We actually had a nice little 5 game win streak there going and have taken 6 out of our last 7 games. The lead in the CA is now 4 games and we move on to NYC to take on the Stars (60-60).

August 24th - Cleveland 7 @ New York 10
August 25th - Cleveland 11 @ New York 12 (10)
August 26th - Cleveland 8 @ New York 7
August 27th - Cleveland 2 @ New York 6

Summary - So a terrible time in Manhattan to start our stay in the state of New York. We lose 3 out of 4 vs the Stars while Brooklyn wins 3 out of 4 and our lead is down to just 2 games prior to the series in Brooklyn.

For the month we are 13-12 so we are trying to test out that "if we play 500 ball the rest of the way" theory. Not sure why we have to make things so difficult for ourselves...

Next - The Big Series in Brooklyn
