RP Mike Hollenbeck (23-R) was sent back to Daytona Beach (A) and RP Mickel Cannady (24-R) was recalled.

We faced Miller, the 34 year old rookie, in April and he pitched 9 innings and gave us 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, 1 home run and 5 walks with 7 strikeouts in a no decision that we won in 11 innings.

Calice gave up 1 run on 6 hits and no walks with 4 strikeouts in 8 innings last time out in a win at Birmingham, his 4th win in a row.

Charlie Faber, the greatest leadoff hitter ever, doubles over the center fielder's head! Welcome back, Charlie! Tony Weninger bloops a hit over the 2nd baseman! Faber only made it to 3rd, because he had to make sure the ball was not caught. T.R. Hunter grounds into a 5-4-3 double play and Faber scores...... 1 to 0, Jays! Ray McDonald lines a hit to center! He steals 2nd! That is his 23rd steal of the season, tying his career high! Tom McDowell lines a hit to left and McDonald scores! 2 to 0, Jays! McDowell steals 2nd! Dickie Stemen flies out to center.

With 1 out, Ernie Patterson grounds one to 3rd, but Charlie Faber boots it... We will chalk that one up to rustiness. Patterson steals 2nd. With 2 outs, Gil Weaver lines a hit to center and Patterson heads home, but Cal Doty throws him out! And is not hurt!

P Al Calice leads off with a walk! Charlie Faber grounds a hit to right and P Calice beats the throw to 3rd! Tony Weninger grounds a 3-2 pitch to right for a hit and P Calice scores and Faber beats the throw to 3rd! 3 to 2, Jays! T.R. Hunter lines out to deep right and Faber tags up and scores. 4 to 2, Jays! The next two make outs...

Bottom of the Eighth
New Pitcher: Bob Carroll (29-R), who is 5-5 with 2 SV and a 5.19 ERA in 50.1 IP. He was 11-5 with 5 SV and a 3.34 ERA in 126.2 IP with 11 starts last year. Dickie Stemen is allowed to hit to keep his glove in the game and hr grounds a double over the 3rd base bag! They walk Cal Doty intentionally. Bert Swope grounds into a force at 2nd, 6-4, and Stemen goes to 3rd. PH Mike Volkman (37-L) lines a hit to right and Stemen scores! 5 to 2, Jays! PH Jack Washburn (23-L), who will stay in to play 1st and send Tom McDowell over to 3rd, grounds into a 3-6-3 double play.......... Charlie Faber could have done that....

The Juice load the bases up with 2 outs in the top of the 9th off P Bill Grant, but Joe Jones grounds out to 3rd and THIS Ball Game Belongs to the Jays!

Al Calice (W 11-7) went 8 innings, allowed 2 runs, 3 hits, 1 home run, 1 walk and struck out 9. At bat, he drew a walk and scored a run. 5 wins in a row!
LHP Bill Grant (SV 27) pitched a scoreless 9th (barely), allowed 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 HBP and struck out 1.

Don Miller (L 6-2) went 7 innings, gave us 4 runs, 10 hits, 2 walks and struck out 4.

3B Charlie Faber, in his first game in almost a month, had 2 hits with a double and scored 2 runs. 2B Tony Weninger had 2 hits and a walk and had an RBI. SS T.R. Hunter had 2 hits and an RBI. CF Dickie Stemen had 2 hits with a double and scored a run. PH Mike Volkman had a hit and an RBI.

For Orlando, LF Barry Magee hit his 6th home run of the season, drew a walk and had 2 RBI.

The Juice had 2 players injured during the game. They announced that C Dennis Blaser had a strained back and would probably miss 3 weeks and CF Pete Thompson had a strained hamstring and would likely miss 4 to 5 weeks.
