Top of the First
Tony Weninger doubles to center! Cal Doty lines a 3-2 pitch to left center for a hit and Weninger scores! 1 to 0, Jays! Fernando Tello grounds into a 4-6-3 double play..... Why are we not running there on the worst defensive catcher in the MLB???? C'mon, Manny! You ought to know that Tello is prone to GDP's.... Ray McDonald grounds out to 3rd.

Bottom of the First

Vinny Puga strikes out looking! Joel Yost hits a towering fly ball to left, just the kind that Ray McDonald flubbed yesterday in right, but he makes the catch! Ray Dallas grounds out to 2nd! 1-2-3!

Top of the Second
With 2 outs, T.R. Hunter lines the first pitch to left for a hit. Bob Hutson draws a walk. P Del Warwick grounds the first pitch to right for a hit and Hunter heads home, but Robbie McFarland throws him out....

In the top of the 3rd, Cal Doty draws a 1-out walk and again does not run and again Fernando Tello grounds into a double play...........

Top of the Fourth
Ray McDonald walks on 4 pitches and goes to 2nd on a wild pitch. But the next three all make outs....

Bottom of the Fifth
Mike Moen takes a 3-2 pitch for ball 4, the 4th walk issued by P Del Warwick.... He used to have pinpoint control... Dana Wagner gets beaned with the first pitch... P Billy Keller bunts the runners up. With the infield in, Vinny Puga, who has struck out his first two time up, grounds out to short and the runners hold. Joel Yost grounds out to 2nd!

Top of the Sixth
With 1 out and no one on first, Fernando Tello has no opportunity to ground into a double play, so he hits the ball over the right center field wall! 2 to 0, Jays!

Bottom of the Seventh
Glenn Benoit takes a 3-2 pitch for ball 4, the 5th walk issued by P Del Warwick. The Bullpen gets up. Mike Moen lines a hit to right center, the first hit of the game for the Whalers.... PH Roy Zimdahl (34-R), batting .208 with 5 HR and 16 RBI in 107 AB, lines a 3-2 pitch to center for a hit and the bases are loaded with no outs.... PH Roberto Lopez (29-L), who was 2 for 5 with an RBI yesterday, grounds a 3-2 pitch up the middle and a run scores... 2 to 1, Jays. Call to the Bullpen: All-Star Albert Davies (28-L). Don Kern (28-R) is in to catch in a double switch. Vinny Puga grounds into a force at home, 5-2. PH Kim Scarbrough (38-R), batting .290 with 4 RBI in 31 AB and who was 0 for 1 yesterday, clears the bases with a double to right.... 4 to 2, Whalers. He is hurt, though. Pinch-runner: Billy Ness (31-L). We walk Ray Dallas intentionally. The next two make outs.

Top of the Ninth

On the Hill: Marty Beck (28-R), their current closer, after a perfect 8th. 3-4-5 up for us. Fernando Tello gets beaned with a 1-2 pitch. Ray McDonald flies out to right.... Jack Washburn pops out to short.... Tom McDowell pops out to 2nd....
