Hi. This is my first real venture into the Hockey side of the OOTP business after thoroughly enjoying many years on the baseball side of things.

Given my limited technical knowledge of the sport, I've tried to play exclusively as a GM. I've been using the NHL Hurricanes for my first game, however, there is no way I can re-hire the Head Coach once the first year comes to an end. Fearing I had over spent my "staff budget" I re-started the game, only to find out I cannot renew Rod Brind'Amoure's (the Hurricanes HC) contract on my first day as a GM either. No matter what, the game seems to be pushing me towards being the head coach. On year 2, when his contract is expired, I cannot afford any head coaches from all of the FAs either.

My question is: Is there a way to play the game exclusively as a GM? (and Yes, I did select GM over GM and HC in the setup options)
