We kick off the 2nd half with a 4 game series at home versus the Columbus Explorers. They lost 3 of 4 games in Louisville last weekend, 2 of the losses in extra innings. We won 3 of 4 games in Columbus, April 7-10. They are dead last (16th) in scoring with 3.23 runs per game (Jacksonville is #7 with 4.14). The Explorers are 6th in fewest runs allowed with 3.75 per game (Jacksonville is #2 with 3.48). Their run differential is -46, 13th in the MLB, and ours is +58, 4th best.

Jorge Moreida lines a hit to center and Barksdale scores, but Dickie Stemen throws Tirey out at home! 3 to 1, Explorers.

T.R. Hunter and Ray McDonald lead off with back to back hits! But the next three all make outs.....

On the Hill: All-Star Albert Davies (28-L), after a perfect 8th. Bob Cline grounds the first pitch up the middle for a hit... The Bullpen gets up. Floyd Shawn grounds a double play ball to short, but T.R. Hunter makes a bad throw to 2nd.... Steve Shauer gets beaned with an 0-2 pitch to load the bases up with no outs.... LHP Albert Davies went 1+ innings, allowed 1 unearned run, 1 hit and 1 HBP.
RHP Bob Craig faced 3 batters and struck them all out, but let a run score on a wild pitch.

Terry Luckett (W 6-9) went 8 innings, gave us 1 run, 8 hits, 1 home run, 1 walk and struck out 6. He threw a WP.
