When did this change? Was a reason given? In past versions, defensive subs gained position experience. It does explain why I was never able to get Jordy Mercer above '-' at 2b despite playing him there about a dozen times in Spring Training. They must have all been late game appearances instead of starts.
Ideally, I'd think it should be based on innings played or defensive chances received, not the old system of games played, or the new system of Games Started.
