Today is Dave Buchalter's 27th birthday!
Jacksonville Jays (11-9 .550 1.5 GB in 3rd place in the Southern Division) at
New Orleans Pelicans (8-12 .400 4.5 GB tied for 7th (last) place in the Southern Division)
We got booted out of 1st on our off day and then we booted ourselves out of 2nd place....

Calice gave up 5 runs on 7 hits, 2 home runs and 1 walk with 1 strikeout in 4 innings last time out in a loss. Another bad game today and he will be the recipient of a train ticket.
Krueger was 10-12 with a 2.80 ERA in 170.1 IP last year in his first almost full season. He is very injury prone. He is 3-0 in 4 starts against the Jays in his career with an 0.87 ERA. 31 IP, 24 H, 1 HR, 10 BB, 17 SO.

Charlie Faber leads off with a double grounded over the 3rd base bag! Jack Washburn doubles to left center and Faber scores! 1 to 0, Jays! Cal Doty grounds out to 2nd and Washburn goes to 3rd. With 1 out, Tom McDowell strikes out, the 13th Jay struck out by P Dan Krueger, a new record for a Jay opponent. Ron Wisham of Syracuse, in his Ace Award and Hurler Trophy season of 2002, struck out 12 Jays in July 16.
