We were expecting to get CF Cal Doty back sometime early this coming week, but Trudy the Trainer says that ain't gonna happen.... His pulled muscle is still bothering him and she will not give me a new estimate of his return time....
Jacksonville Jays (3-2 .600 1 GA in 1st place (all alone!) in the Southern Division) at
Columbus Explorers (2-3 .400 2 GB tied for 6th (last) place in the Northern Division)
JAX: Del Warwick (30-L) (0-1 3.00 ERA 6 IP, 8 H, 0 HR, 1 BB, 6 SO) Gold Glove(02)
COL: Terry Luckett (30-L) (0-1 7.36 ERA 7.1 IP, 12 H, 0 HR, 3 BB, 7 SO) All-Star(4: 01-04)
Warwick faced Columbus once last year and beat them with 1 run allowed on 7 hits, 1 home run, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.
Luckett is now their #2 starter, but the #1 winningest pitch ever in the MLB with 71 Wins. He was 22-6 with a 1.99 ERA in 240 IP last year and would have been a unanimous Ace Award winner and Hurler Trophy winner in any other season. #2 starter..... He is 4-4 in 8 starts in his career against the Jays with a shutout and a 3.26 ERA. 58 IP, 62 H, 3 HR, 7 BB, 37 SO. He is the first lefty we have faced this season.
