Arbitration question -- Dealing with ace coming off major injury
My 30-year-old ace Angel Tiburcio is coming off a season where he went 6-9 with a 3.57 ERA before missing the last month and a half with a partially torn labrum.
He should be back to full health -- or whateverf he is going to become -- by mid-November.
Coming off Cy Young seasons in 2018 and 2019, he made $12.5 million in 2030.
Heading back into arbitration, it is suggest to pay him $15 million for the coming season.
This seems to be an overpay considering his production and injury in the past season.
I am thinking $12.5 again, with the idea he needs to prove that he's back to what we was.
