Top of the First
Jimmy Reed swings at the first pitch and beats out, no! Tom McDowell made a great pay charging in on the ball and nipped him at 1st! Juan Duarte grounds out to 2nd. Billy Brown grounds out to short! 1-2-3!
Bottom of the First
Charlie Faber, the greatest leadoff hitter ever, grounds a 3-2 pitch up the middle for a hit! Danny Stewart grounds into a force at 2nd, 5-4. Stewart steals his first base of the season! Fernando Tello flies out to deep left. Tom McDowell pops out to left... His last HR was 18 games ago....
Bottom of the Second
Dave Thompson leads off with a walk! With 2 outs, Tommy Adams triples to left center and Thompson scores! 1 to 0, Jays!
Top of the Third
The Steamrollers go 8 up, 8 down and then P Juan Estrada, maybe the worst hitter in all of Baseball, beats out an infield hit... Jimmy Reed hits a 518 ft. home run to center... 2 to 1, Steamrollers.
Bottom of the Third
With 2 outs, Fernando Tello jerks the first pitch down the right field line for a home run! Tie Game: 2 to 2! He leads all rookies with 12 HR!
Top of the Fourth
Billy Brown lines a hit to left. With 1 out, Doug Bowers, the sub-.200 hitter, hits a home run to left center... 4 to 2, Steamrollers.
Bottom of the Sixth
With 1 out, Tom McDowell grounds a hit to left. Dave Thompson hits a home run to left!! Tie Game: 4 to 4! That is the 100th HR of the season for the Jays, the first time we have ever reached triple digits!
Top of the Seventh
With 2 outs, Jimmy Reed lines a hit to center. He steals 2nd. Juan Duarte grounds a hit up the middle and Reed heads home, but Danny Stewart throws him out!
Bottom of the Seventh
New Pitcher: Lonny Green (32-L), who is 3-2 with a 2.44 ERA in 62.2 IP. With 1 out, PH Leander Gooding (33-R) beats out an infield hit and then goes to 2nd on a ground out. With 2 outs, they walk Danny Stewart intentionally to face Fernando Tello, which seems a bit odd to me.... Tello makes them pay with a grounder to left for a hit and Gooding scores! 5 to 4, Jays! Tom McDowell swings at the first pitch and clears the bases with a double to right and ends up on 3rd!! 7 to 4, Jays! That does it for P Green. New Pitcher: John Williams (40-L), who is 0-1 with a 4.29 ERA in 21 IP with 23 SO. Dave Thompson takes a 3-2 pitch for ball 4. Don Kern lines the first pitch to left for a double and McDowell scores! 8 to 4, Jays!
