1B Jack Washburn (22-L) was placed on the Disabled List and we called up LF Tommy Adams (22-L), our 2nd round pick in this year's B Leagues Draft. He is hitting .313 for Daytona (A), though without any power. Fernando Tello will move to 1st.

The Birmingham Barons are here to play a short 2 game set. I invited them to stay longer, but they insisted that we follow the schedule. They lost 2 of 3 at home to Memphis over the weekend. We are 8-1 against them on the season and won 2 of 3 the last time they visited. They are 7th in scoring with 4.10 runs per game (Jacksonville is #3 with 4.49). The Barons are last in fewest runs allowed with 5.25 per game (Jacksonville is #1 with 3.13). Their run differential is -149, 2nd worst in the MLB, and ours is +178, still #1.

Birmingham Barons (53-77 .408 37.5 GB in 8th (last) place in the Southern Division) at
Jacksonville Jays (91-40 .695 15.5 GA in 1st place in the Southern Division)

BIRM: Paul Gaughan (35-R) (9-8 3.18 ERA 133 IP, 121 H, 10 HR, 27 BB, 84 SO) All-Star(2: 01-02)
JAX: Del Warwick (29-L) (9-7 2.96 ERA 182.2 IP, 181 H, 11 HR, 37 BB, 116 SO) Gold Glove(02)

Gaughan is their #1 starter. We faced him 3 weeks ago and beat him, scoring 5 runs (4 earned) on 4 hits, 1 home run and 4 walks with 2 strikeouts in 1.2 innings.

Warwick gave up 4 runs on 6 hits, 1 home run and 3 walks with 2 strikeouts in 7 innings last time out in a no decision that we won in 11 innings.
