Top of the First
Junior Danielson strikes out.... We need a new batting order until Charlie Faber is back.... Fernando Tello lines a double to right! Cal Doty grounds out to the pitcher and Tello goes to 3rd. Ray McDonald grounds an 0-2 pitch up the middle for a hit and Tello scores! 1 to 0, Jays! McDonald steals 2nd! Tom McDowell takes a 3-2 pitch for ball 4. Jack Washburn draws a walk to load the bases up with 2 outs. Bart Daw grounds out to 3rd....
Bottom of the First
Jim Beard flies out to right. Charlie LaRue doubles to right center and extends his hitting streak to 14 games... Mitch Kahmann swings at a 3-2 pitch and misses! Frank Bates grounds out to short!
Top of the Fourth
Jack Washburn lines the first pitch to left center for a triple! Bart Daw takes a 3-2 pitch for strike three... With the infield in, Don Kern grounds a hit through the right side and Washburn scores! 2 to 0, Jays! And Kern has his BA over .100! P Jim Baucom bunts him to 2nd. Junior Danielson grounds out to 3rd....
Top of the Seventh
New Pitcher: Alfredo Hernandez (29-R), who is 5-2 with 3 SV and a 2.07 ERA in 61 IP. With 2 outs, Junior Danielson grounds a hit to left. Fernando Tello grounds the first pitch up the middle for a hit and Danielson beats the throw to 3rd! Cal Doty grounds a hit up the middle and Danielson scores! 3 to 0, Jays!
Top of the Ninth
C Bert Swope (32-S) takes a 3-2 pitch for ball 4. P Jim Baucom swings away for some reason and grounds out to 3rd and Swope goes to 2nd. All he did was cost himself credit for a SH.... Junior Danielson lines hits 3rd hit of the game to left! Maybe we do not need to rethink the batting order! Fernando Tello grounds into a 4-6-3 double play.... Except getting Tello out of the 2 hole... He is a GDP machine... That is #12 for him.
