10 June 2298 - Nannybot Sent to Showers

The Union Hope Lifegivers have disciplined rookie catcher Lukewarm Nannybot due to insubordination. He will miss the next 10 games, which probably will not matter since he had yet to see the field in 2298.

Nannybot was selected by the Lexington Synths in the 2297 Rookie Draft, #94 overall.

Nannybot is considered to be rigid in his routines to the level of stubborn. After Lifegivers hitting coach Jamie Bidwell suggest that Nannybot change his approach at the plate during batting practice, Nannybot supposedly told Bidwell to "suck a bloatfly's middle nut." He also pouted that it would not matter because he would not play anyway. That was enough for Bidwell and manager Jeff Tannenbaum to send Nannybot off the field for a time away from the game.

10 June 2298 - 3 Boomers for Fogcrawler

Fans are still buzzing after Nordhagen Beach whipped the Easy Town Assaultrons by the score of 9-6 today at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium.

Michael Fogcrawler smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the left fielder bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 5 RBIs, and scored 3 times. The three-home run performance pushed Fogcrawler (17) past teammate Dustin Mart (16) for the CBO lead in home runs. Three home runs also sets the North Charles Association regular season record.

At the postgame press conference, Fogcrawler said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game.

"Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Fogcrawler said. "Three is just... wow."

Michael Fogcrawler hit a two-run home run off Angel Waterdrink in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Angel Waterdrink in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Ray Housecat in the 7th.

For the year Fogcrawler is batting .353 with 17 home runs.

10 June 2298 - T-51s Take Down Ninjas, 9-8, in 12

Paladin Danse did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Egret Ninjas from losing, 9-8, to the Oberland T-51s at Graygarden Park. Danse went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. With the win, Oberland pushed its record to 37-11.

The T-51s procured the win, in large part because of right fielder Bloatfly Williams. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"Big win," said Williams.

Oberland fans held their breath as Jonathan Abern left yesterday's Ninjas-T-51s contest with an injury. After the game, the team's medical staff said that the 20-year-old second baseman had suffered a pinched nerve while colliding with a player at a base. It's estimated that he will be out 2-3 weeks.

Hitting .360 to date, Abern has 4 home runs and 27 RBIs. He has played in 48 games.

10 June 2298 - Nukes Keeps Hit Streak Alive

The Sunshine Tidings Chemists stopped the Abernathy Adamantium today 5-3 and Amari Nukes collected a base hit yet again. The Sunshine Tidings left fielder finished with 2 hits to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25.

"I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Nukes told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games."

Amari Nukes flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

This year Nukes is batting .405 with 79 hits and 11 home runs. He has scored 34 times and has batted in 42 runs.

10 June 2298 - Luttrell Excels in 4-0 University Point Win

Jukebox Luttrell was instrumental in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Jamaica Plain Red Rockets. The center fielder went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the University Point Deathclaws. Quentin Malone picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-6. He struck out 7 in 8 innings. The win gives University Point a season record of 27-21.

University Point took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Luttrell hit a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season made the score 2-0, University Point.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Luttrell. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

10 June 2298 - Lady Killers Stay Hot, Beat Silver Shroud, 7-4

The Starlight Lady Killers downed the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, 7-4, at Valentine Detective Agency Field. Damani Beebe led the way, going 3-for-5 for Starlight. Larry Undertaker earned the save, his 14th. The win puts Starlight at 27-21 this season.

Zeldolph Violet, who is tied for 3rd in the NCA in doubles with 22, aided the Starlight cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk.

"I believe in our guys," said Starlight skipper Eric Bendure. "I like the energy they're playing with."
