2298 Week 9 - The Week in Review

Analysis

Our risers and fallers feature in last week's "The Week in Review" worked out well for us, so we are going to look at the same this week with the complete list of the Power Rankings.

In the biggest surprise, the Goodneighbor Hancocks are your new #1 in the Power Rankings, knocking the Oberland T-51s from the peak for the first time this season. We also saw a flip in the North Charles Association as Abernathy has jumped up two spots over Nordhagen Beach for #3 in the Power Rankings.

Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization:

Teams (Total Points, Tendency):
1) Goodneighbor Hancocks (147.0, +1)
2) Oberland T-51s (139.0, -1)

6) Starlight Lady Killers (106.0, +2)
7) Easy Town Assaultrons (106.0, -1)
8) University Point Deathclaws (101.0, --4)
9) Finch Farm Four Leafs (93.0, ++7)
10) Quincy Gunners (91.0, --3)
11) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (88.0, -1)
12) Egret Ninjas (86.0, +1)

20) Salem Witch Hats (72.0, o)
21) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (63.0, --3)

23) Concord Radstags (51.0, -2)
24) Roxbury Knuckle Punchers (48.0, -1)

Risers

Goodneighbor (+1, LW - 2, TW - 1) - Even though they are only up one spot, that one spot has huge implications for the playoffs race in the last 60 games of the season. Goodneighbor is currently on a six-game winning streak, had a perfect 5-0 week, have tied three other teams for the best ten-game stretch with an 8-2 record, and only trail Oberland by 1.5 games after this weekend.

Finch Farm (+7, LW - 16, TW - 9) - The Four Leafs made the biggest move, jumping up seven spots in the Power Rankings, thanks in part to defeating Nordhagen Beach in a weekend series. The Leafs were 4-1 on the week, sweeping Sunshine Tidings in two by a combined 17-4 advantage and then beating the Party Boys two out of three. Finch Farm has now taken control of third place in the Brotherhood League, four games back of Easy Town for the wildcard slot. They have also been the best in the BL in the last ten games at 7-3.

Jamaica Plain (+4, LW - 9, TW - 5) - The Red Rockets are up four spots for the second-biggest jump of the week. Remember in the preseason when we doubted PAM's predictions? Well, if the Red Rockets continue on this hot streak, they are the third team to talk about in the NCA. Their 8-2 record in their last ten games ties with Goodneighbor for tops in the NCA, and their four-game winning streak is tied for second only behind the Hancock's six straight. Jamaica Plain went 4-1 this week, splitting their series with Vault 81 and then sweeping Quincy.

Fallers

Oberland (-1, LW -1, TW - 2) - The T-51s have a chink in their power armor. The T-51s dropped their first league series of the season, losing two of three to FHE, including seeing star Sheng Kawolski drop his first game of the season. Oberland has now lost or tied three of their last four series, and are on a season worse stretch of losing three of four and going 5-5 in their last ten.

University Point (-4, LW - 4, TW - 8) - The Deathclaws had the biggest fall in the Power Rankings as they see the wildcard race in the Minutemen League get much tighter. After being swept by Goodneighbor, the Claws dropped to 1-4 on the week and only lead Jamaica Plain and Quincy by two games in the battle for second place.

Fort Hagen (-1, LW - 10, TW - 11) - The Silver Shroud did not take a big tumble this week, but it is worth noting that the one-time first place team in the Institute League is now in third place, one game back of green hot Starlight. Fort Hagen went 2-3 this week, splitting with Easy Town and then dropping a home series to Lexington. In their last ten, the Shroud is 4-6. They just keep fading when the expectation was that they were the deepest team in the IL. With Abernathy staying hot and now the Lady Killer matching with each winning four straight, Fort Hagen will need to turn things around quickly to get back in the NCA title discussion.
