Veteran Boston left fielder Cody Kane, one of the great leaders in the game and a 9-time All-Star, yesterday joined the 300 home run club in the WPK.
He becomes just the 7th player thus far to reach that mark, the others being Brad Tesh (301), Jamison Bash (307), Ju-ao Ju (333), Jesus Casiano (348), Jesus Hernandez (351), and the lone member of the 400 club, Nate Bennett (441).
At age 32, Kane remains an excellent hitter and is on pace for 22 homers this season and should have at least an outside chance of getting to 400 eventually, though some around the league worry that his apparent lack of durability might keep him from reaching that mark.
