Monday Morning Report

Player of the Week - Tom Spiess, RF, Providence (26-L .215/.306/.398) Had 10 hits with 1 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 3 BB, 4 SO, 2 SB, 1 CS, 7 R and 14 RBI (!!) in 7 G

September 15 - RF Ed Yeager (28-L) of Ottawa had 2 hits with a home run and 5 RBI at Columbus. The Otters won, 13 to 3.
September 15 - C Alex Martinez (29-R) of Charlotte had 3 hits with a home run, scored 2 runs and had 5 RBI at home versus Memphis. The Hornets won, 8 to 5.
September 16 - Rookie Angel Gomez (23-R) of Hartford pitched a 2 hit shutout at home versus Providence. He did not walk a batter and struck out 6. At bat, he had a hit and an RBI. It his his 2nd shutout of the season. He is now 8-12 with a 4.34 ERA in 26 starts (34 G). The Whalers won, 5 to 0.
September 16 - CF Mike Cram (31-R) of Indianapolis had 4 hits with a double, scored a run and had 5 RBI at home versus Rochester. The Arrows won, 10 to 4.
September 17 - LF/CF Barry Magee (31-L) of Orlando went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBI at home versus Louisville. The Juice won, 12 to 2.
September 18 - John Wilson (28-R) of Louisville pitched a 4 hit shutout at Orlando. He walked 3 and struck out 3. At bat, he had a hit. He is now 9-11 with a 4.10 ERA in 26 starts. The Colonels won, 2 to 0.
September 19 - Rookie Jerry Doherty (25-L) of Buffalo pitched a 5 hit shutout at home versus Indianapolis. He walked 3 and struck out 9. At bat, he had a hit and an RBI. It is his 2nd shutout of the season. He is now 6-3 with a 2.87 ERA in 13 starts. The Bombers won, 6 to 0.
September 19 - Charlie Foltz (29-R) of Memphis pitched a 5 hit shutout at Richmond. He did not walk a batter and struck out 4. At bat, he had a hit. He is now 13-12 with a 3.72 ERA in 28 starts. The Mules won, 8 to 0.
September 20 - 1B Herman Chance (33-R) of Orlando had 2 hits with a home run and 5 RBI at New Orleans. The Juice won, 5 to 3.
