Game Start: 7:05 PM
Ballpark: Crosley Field
Weather: 85 F, Clear Skies, with a 9 MPH wind blowing out to right
Attendance: 5,438

Top of the First:
Cal Doty beats out an infield hit. Ray McDonald strikes out... Ed Diskin doubles to right center and Doty scores from 1st! 1 to 0, Jays! No shutout! Marty Eades beats out an infield hit. Jack Washburn grounds out to 2nd, Chuck Corrigan making a tough play, and Diskin scores and Eades moves up. 2 to 0, Jays! Don Kern grounds out to short.

Bottom of the First:
Franklin Sanchez strikes out! Ray Teague swings at the first pitch and lines a hit to center... Jerry Rafanello flies out to left!! Jay Kegler strikes out looking!

Top of the Second:
Charlie Faber and Gary McKellar lead off with back to back hits! I doubt that has ever happened before! P Danny Coreano bunts them up. Cal Doty flies out to center and Faber tags up and scores. 3 to 0, Jays!

Bottom of the Fifth:

Franklin Sanchez lines a hit to right. With 1 out, Jerry Rafanello hits a home run to left... 3 to 2, Jays. His sixth home run of the season, fourth against the Jays....

Top of the Seventh:
Ed Diskin doubles to left! With 1 out, they walk Jack Washburn intentionally. Don Kern hits a home run to left center!! 6 to 2, Jays! Only our second HR in the past 19 games and both have been by Kern!

Bottom of the Seventh:

With 1 out, Franklin Sanchez beats out an infield hit. Ray Teague takes a 3-2 pitch for ball 4... The Bullpen gets up. With 2 outs, Jay Kegler lines a hit to center and the bases are loaded. Tim Dawson swings at the first pitch and lines a hit to right and 2 runs score... 6 to 4, Jays. Call to the Bullpen: 2-time All-Star Bill Grant (33-L). Chuck Corrigan grounds out to short!

Top of the Eighth:

New Pitcher: Scott Van Dyke (32-R), who is 3-10 with 10 SV and a 5.45 ERA in 69.2 IP. With 1 out, Ray McDonald swings at the first pitch and grounds a hit up the middle. Ed Diskin doubles to right center, his third double of the day, tying the MLB mark! With the infield in, Marty Eades grounds out to 3rd and the runners hold... I was hoping he could make it to 100 RBI, but he is not knocking in very many of late... Only 4 in 15 games in September. I thought they would walk Jack Washburn to give Don Kern a chance at a Grand Slam, but they pitch to Washburn and he hits a home run to right!!! 9 to 4, Jays! 1 HR in the previous 18 games and 2 today!!

Top of the Ninth:

New Pitcher: Rudy Norwood (31-R), a rookie with a 4.31 ERA in 31.1 IP. With 1 out, Gary McKellar grounds a hit up the middle. We let P Bill Grant bat because Dave Nini is the only rested reliever in the Pen and I do not trust him to hold even a 5 run lead.... Besides, P Grant can get a Save, if he finishes the game. He grounds a hit up the middle and McKellar beats the throw to 3rd and P Grant takes 2nd! Cal Doty bloops a hit to left center, just over the shortstop, and McKellar scores! 10 to 4, Jays! Ray McDonald lines a hit to left and P Grant scores! 11 to 4, Jays! The next two make outs.
