I ended up trading Halter along with another league ranked top 25 prospect, along with a 29-year AAA first baseman and a AA catcher, I am well stocked at both those positions, for a 26-year-old outfielder who just entered his arbitration years and finished in the top 10 in the MVP voting.
I was in desperate need of a right-handed power hitting outfielder. He's also a leader, which I was in need of.
Peterson is one of my six starters in spring training, and has pitched well in his three starts, but will likely spend the season at AAA.
If thrives as a starter, he'll probably make the team late this season or next. If he struggles, he'll get dealt or turned into a reliever.
