The Southern Division won, 7 to 3.
They now lead the series, 3 to 0.

Stan Stephens led off the bottom of the 1st with a singe and with 1 out, Keith Meyer hit a home run. After 2 innings, the South was up, 5 to 1, and cruised to a victory.

Mike Moen hit a home run. Mickey Lynn hit 2 doubles, drew a walk and had an RBI. Stan Stephens had 2 hits with a triple, scored a run and had an RBI. Jerry Rafanello had 3 hits with a home run and scored 2 runs. CF Jose Vazquez had 3 hits and an RBI. Keith Meyer was the MVP. He went 2 for 2 with a home run, scored 2 runs and had 2 RBI.

Syracuse led all teams with 6 players in the game. Richmond and Birmingham each sent 5 players. Every team sent at least 2 players this year, except for Rochester, who only had 1.

The 3 Jays all played. RP Bill Grant pitched a perfect 3rd inning. P Jim Baucom pitched a perfect 6th. 3B Marty Eades relieved MVP Keith Meyer in the 4th and hit a triple and struck out in 2 at bats with an RBI.

The American Association (A) also had their All-Star Game today. P John Lombardi was the only player from Daytona (A) to make the team, but he did not pitch. The Toledo Mud Hens led all teams with 7 players. The North Division won, 5 to 1. 2B Roger Davis (28-R) of Fort Wayne went 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk and scored 2 runs to win MVP honors.
