Top of the Fifth:
Leander Gooding walks on 4 pitches. Bart Daw lines a hit to right center. Bert Swope swings at a 3-2 pitch and grounds out to 2nd and the runners move up. P Jim Baucom grounds a hit to right and both runners score!! 4 to 2, Sycamores. Cal Doty doubles to center and P Baucom tries to score from 1st......Safe! 4 to 3, Sycamores. Top of the Sixth:
Marty Eades grounds a hit up the middle. Jack Washburn tries to bunt, but fails to get one down, so, with 2 strikes, he lines a hit to right center and Eades goes to 3rd! PH Mike Volkman (35-L) is sent up. Washburn steals 2nd! Volkman flies out to left and Eades tags up and beats the throw! Tie Game: 4 to 4! Washburn steals 3rd! Bart Daw flies out to deep center and Washburn trots home! 5 to 4, Jays!

Bottom of the Sixth:
With 1 out, Dave Bess hits a home run to left center... Tie Game: 5 to 5. We finally score P Baucom some runs and he tosses a clunker...

Top of the Seventh:
On the Hill: Alfredo Hernandez (28-R), after getting the final out of the Sixth. PH Danny Stewart (32-L) grounds a hit to left. Cal Doty doubles to left center and Stewart scores! 6 to 5, Jays! They walk Ray McDonald intentionally. Dennis Brown skies one to center, but Jim Beard takes his eye off the ball at the last minute and muffs it for an error and the bases are loaded with no outs! They can't walk Marty Eades intentionally, now! They still do not pitch to him, though, and he walks to force in a run! 7 to 5, Jays! P Hernandez is hurt. New Pitcher: John Boston (35-L), who pitched 3.2 scoreless innings on Friday. PH Dave Thompson (27-R) grounds into a force at home, 6-2. 2B Charlie Faber (32-R) grounds into a force at home, 4-2.... Bart Daw grounds out to 3rd.... Oh! We could have busted it wide open there! Alas! Editor's Note: I have been reading Shakespeare lately...

Bottom of the Seventh:
New Pitcher: Johnny Groom (25-R). Dave Thompson stays int o play 1st and Danny Stewart stays in to play center. With 1 out, Cecil Barrett, the .123 hitter, lines his second hit of the game to center... A passed ball sends him to 2nd. Bert! What is wrong with you! That is 2 passed balls today... Don Bruns grounds a hit up the middle and Barrett scores... 7 to 6, Jays. The Bullpen gets up. Frank Bates bloops a hit to right... Lee Dean pokes a hit to center and Bruns heads home, but Danny Stewart and his pop gun arm throw him out! PH Felipe Garcia (28-L), batting .333 with 1 HR and 5 RBI in 21 AB with 1 strikeout, is sent up. Call to the Bullpen: Dave Nini (25-L). Can he finally get a lefty out? Garcia swings at a 3-2 pitch and pops out to 1st!!

Bottom of the Ninth:
On the Hill: Robbie Hopley (29-R), after a scoreless 8th. The Bullpen is ready. 2-3-4 up for the Sycamores. Cecil Barrett, the .123 hitter with 2 hits today, bloops a hit to right... Don Bruns, a good hitter, grounds into a 4-6-3 double play!! Frank Bates, another good hitter, strikes out looking and THIS Ball Game Belongs to the Jays! The bats finally bailed out Baucom's butt for a change!
