Relief pitcher Jason Bowman has been around a long time, and he's been around, period.
The thing is, he's very talented on the mound and very damaging in the clubhouse.
So at the age of 39 he finds himself pitching for his 9th different team, including multiple separate stints with teams. And at this point of the season, as a multi-inning closer, he leads the SJL in wins at 8. (His career single-season high in this category is 11.) The 1969 MGL Reliever of the Year is on pace for 25 wins to go along with 19 saves and 3.0 WAR. He turns 40 at the end of the season and if this is a swan song (he will be a free agent again at the end of the season) it is looking like a sweet one.
And in spite of his bad attitude the El Paso Dawgs have to be pretty happy that they signed him for this season as he has helped them stay in serious early contention with the mighty Columbus Whalers.
