With the infield in, Leander Gooding, who has yet to make an out today, makes one with a ground out to 1st, 3-1, and Doty holds. Glen Lewis swings at a 3-2 pitch and misses....

With 2 outs, Jimmy Ward gets their third hit of the game, a home run to right... 3 to 1, Arrows.
Bottom of the Eighth:
Leon Wooten doubles to right... The Bullpen is up. Tex Pollard flies out to deep center and Wooten tags up and scoots to 3rd. With the infield in, PH Mike Cram (29-R), who was 0 for 3 with a walk yesterday, grounds out to 3rd and the runner holds. Vinny Puga grounds out to 1st, unassisted!
Top of the Ninth:
New Pitcher: Brent Webster (35-R), their All-Star closer, who is 3-1 with 12 SV and a 1.83 ERA in 39.1 IP. Last year, he was 7-6 with 31 SV and a 1.98 ERA in 104.2. He is a soft tosser and does not strike out many. PH Jack Washburn (20-L) gets beaned. PH Mike Volkman (34-L) grounds into a force at 2nd, 6-4. PH Brian Porter (34-S) strikes out... Cal Doty swings at a 3-2 pitch and grounds one to the hole on the right side, but 1B Duane Weeks makes a diving stop and tosses to P Webster for the out and the ball game....
