9 August 2297 - Players of the Week

Star of the Week Picked in BL: So far in his young career, Sean Koester has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Brotherhood League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.

The 20-year-old County Crossing Bloodbugs shortstop hit at a torrid .667 clip as he collected 10 hits in 15 at-bats, 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

In 54 games this season Koester has compiled a .350 batting average with 90 hits and 7 home runs. He has also scored 46 times and knocked in 44 runs.

Engill Punishes IL Pitchers This Week: One of the league's most exciting young players, Austin Engill of the Abernathy Adamantium earned himself Institute League Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games.

For the week the 19-year-old shortstop had a lofty .545 average (6-for-11), collecting 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 6 runs scored.

Engill is currently hitting at a .271 pace with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs.

Big Bat Pays Off, Gatekeeper Player of the Week: 19-year-old Tutton Gatekeeper sent shock waves through Minutemen League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Minutemen League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, Gatekeeper made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .583 average, 7 hits in 12 at-bats, 2 home runs and 4 runs batted in.

Where the Warwick Mirelurks third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Gatekeeper certainly made his mark last week.

In 2297 Gatekeeper has hit at a .333 clip with 73 hits, 14 home runs, 56 RBIs and has scored 40 times.

RL Trophy Goes to Crook of Fairline Hill Estates: Adam Crook has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 19-year-old left fielder of the Fairline Hill Estates Yao Guai had a hot bat in the Railroad League over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors.

Crook batted .500 with 6 hits in 12 at-bats, 3 home runs and 6 RBIs.

Batting .339 to date, Crook has 11 home runs and 43 RBIs.
