Won - 4 to 0

Mini-sweep!

Jim Baucom is the first Jay pitcher to ever throw a 2nd shutout!
And he did it against the Mules, who mauled our pitching without mercy last year!

We have only had 5 CG shutouts in our history: Victor Espinoza, Blair Montgomery and Dale Gilchrist are the authors of the other three.

We had 14 hits and made no errors
Memphis had 8 hits and made no errors

With 14 hits, we had to work hard to avoid scoring more than 4 runs and we did!

Jim Baucom (W 5-4) went 9 shutout innings (CG), allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 7. 137 pitches. At bat, he had a hit.

Charlie Foltz (L 2-7) went 8 innings (CG), gave us 4 runs, 14 hits, 6 walks (3 INT) and struck out 3. 129 pitches.

CF Cal Doty had a hit and 2 walks (1 INT), scored a run and had an RBI. 2B Leander Gooding had 4 hits, stole a base, scored a run and had an RBI. RF Glen Lewis hit a double and had an RBI. LF Brian Porter had 2 hits with a double and a walk and an RBI. 1B Jack Washburn had 2 hits and a walk (INT). SS Bart Daw had 2 hits with a double and a walk, stole a base and scored 2 runs.
