Of your pen/rotation, SE Doc and FOTF Jose will project really well to the pen even at the highest levels. Obviously, 99Maddux is a sweet starter. 100 Nolan will do fine basically right up to (and maybe in) diamond, but doesn't project super well to PL because of his reliance on stuff. Gomez is really someone you eventually move on from, Grove is better but he's been outclassed by other lefties recently at the top. 100 nonSE Seaver is also pretty good but someone to think about replacing way down the line.
Guidry is sweet because he's a tactical nuke against lefty teams; every top level team should think about having him imo. I wouldn't hesitate on him, especially as a Yankee fan.
Again, no rush, don't feel like you need a PL viable staff asap. Just something to consider as you're thinking about it.

Thanks for the time you invested Condor.
I am leaning hard on picking up Guidry for my pen.
I agree that having Guidry, Doc, and Fernandez would/will make a very good pen nucleus. I am thinking Ryan could be a good pen piece at higher levels if deployed the right way (no long relief or emergency starts...maybe purely high leverage or setup work..)
Have decided that Johnson would just be a two to three week rental so I will pass altogether.
I appreciate your thoughts, and perspective.
Talk later.
