May 20 - Dave Lutes (27-R) of Charlotte pitched a 5 hit shutout at Richmond. He walked 1 and struck out 2. At bat, he had a hit. He is now 2-5 with a 3.69 ERA in 8 starts. The Hornets won, 3 to 0, and only had 5 hits themselves.
May 21 - Robin Morris (28-R) of Memphis pitched a 5 hit shutout at Orlando. He walked 1, hit a batter and struck out 5. At bat, he scored a run. It was only his 2nd start of the season. He is now 3-0 with 1.36 ERA in 2 starts (13 G). The Mules won, 3 to 0.
May 21 - Bill Cortright (34-R) of Ottawa pitched a 1 hit shutout at home versus Providence. He walked 1 and struck out 9. The lone hit was a 2 out single int the 8th. At bat, he had a hit, scored a run and had 2 RBI. He is now 3-2 with a 2.41 ERA in 9 starts. The Otters won, 9 to 0.
May 22 - Steve Weston (26-L) of Rochester pitched a 4 hit shutout at home versus Hartford. He walked 5 and struck out 10. 147 pitches thrown. At bat, he had 2 hits. He is now 5-2 with a 1.79 ERA in 11 starts. The Roosters won, 3 to 0.
May 23 - Charlotte lost All-Star LF John Hartz (37-R) for a month with a high ankle sprain. He was batting .302 with 3 HR and 17 RBI and an .868 OPS in 116 AB.
May 23 - Providence lost 3B Israel Villegas (31-R) for 7 weeks with torn quadriceps. He was batting .327 with 9 HR and a League leading 38 RBI and a .959 OPS in 162 AB.
May 24 - RF John King (32-R) of Rochester had 4 hits with 2 home runs and 5 RBI at home versus Orlando. The Roosters won, 11 to 4.
May 24 - CF Jorge Moreida (23-L) of Columbus had 3 hits with a double and a home run, scored 2 runs and had 5 RBI at Charlotte, but the Explorers lost, 8 to 7, in 10 innings.
May 25 - CF Sergio Acevedo (28-R) of Birmingham had 3 hits with 2 home runs, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBI at home versus Hartford. He raised his BA to .190. He is 2nd in the League with 14 HR. The Barons won, 6 to 5.
