I have a player whose base position is 3rd base. His rating at 3rd is a 93 with ratings of Range:82, Error:91, Arm:87 DP:79. He is only rated a 42 second baseman.


My second baseman has ratings of 63/80/46/62 lower than player A in literally every rating, however his second base rating is a 69 compared to the other player's 42.


I thought it might just be an odd rating and player A would out perform player B at second base in the long run, but so far player A always has a worse zone rating and more errors. I don't think it has to do with training because I have checked multiple copies of each card and that seems to be their default second base rating. Should I continue to start player A over player B at second because it will regress to the mean, or is there a part of defensive ratings that I am not understanding.
