If there is one thing the Denver Brewers never seem to run out of it is toolsy outfielders.
Jason Brannan, who was the 6th round draft pick for the team in 1974, doesn't profile as a future WPK starter, but he is one of the growing list of quality 4th or 5th outfielders in the organization. Yesterday Brannan saw his 29-game hitting streak, which stretches back to late in the 1977 season, come to an end. But as he has much of his professional career, Brannan is once again putting up great offensive numbers. With his plus speed and base-stealing abilities, decent power and plate discipline, and steady defense, Brannan almost surely will get a chance sometime this season to finally get a chance to roam the outfield at Centennial Stadium in Brewers purple.
