32 teams (2 SL, 2 div, 8 teams each) - 162 games
Got this request from /u/TheDayManLost on Reddit and figured posting it here was the easiest way. (Plus this seems like it might be a common choice from people running 32-team leagues)
----------
Schedule for 32 teams, 162 games - 2 subleagues, each with 2 divisions of 8 teams
Interleague YES, balanced games NO
----------
12 games vs. 7 division opponents (6H/6A; 42H/42A in total)
3-4 games vs. 8 league opponents (mostly 4-game series, 15H/15A in total)
3 games vs. 16 interleague opponents (3H or 3A, 24H/24A in total)
----------
Season begins on the last Friday of March and ends on a Sunday in late Sept./early Oct. This is one day shorter than the current MLB schedule format
Weekday games begin at 7:05 local time; Sunday games at 1:05, and Saturdays a mix between 1:05, 4:05 and 7:05
All-Star Game in the normal spot, a Tuesday in early-mid July
----------
Homestands and road trips should be pretty reasonable - most between 6-10 games
No more than 20 games without an off day
