I stopped the above league because the postseason turned into a total mess. I started another one with an easier to control postseason, but just wasn't feeling it. So I returned to the setup I know I love and I think I'm ready to settle in and finally do some damage.
The setup is as follows
12 teams, one subleague, no divisions.
154 game balanced schedule
Playoffs have 2 rounds. Round one is a best of three series involving the leagues 2nd and 3rd place finishers. All games to be played in the 2nd place finisher's ballpark. The winner of this round will face the 1st place finisher in a best of seven series to crown the league's champion.
No DH
Reserve rosters instead of minors
League begins in 1947 and will import historical modifiers on a year to year basis.
I'm using free agency. This league will not import financials according to history. Instead, it will use the 1947 financials for the duration. I pay very little attention to this aspect of the game and find it's best for me to keep it as simple as possible.
To start out, I'm using "Always Start the Highest Rested" for starting pitchers, but will probably change this over time.
The League
Birmingham Barons
Buffalo Bisons
Charlotte Knights
Columbus Clippers
Durham Bulls
Indianapolis Indians
Louisville Bats
Memphis Redbirds
Nashville Sounds
New Orleans Baby Cakes
Norfolk Tides
Toledo Mud Hens
Trying something I've done once before with some success. I'm simming the first part of the season till I reach August 20th. I then grind the race for the pennant, watching however many games each day that involve contenders.
The player pool for this league is once again players from 1901-2005
