The exact moment where I knew we will not compete in 2013? A three-game set with
Giants where we really scored a lot of runs, 18... and conceded 46 runs in three games. They just blew us out of the water. No chance to even touch them. Now, here is what we won`t do. Panic sell.
We have a good group of young, controllable players that play at the highest level. They are untouchable unless we can find a BETTER prospect. We have a bona fide ace in
Hernandez... untouchable. But what we do have... is a lot of average junk, and if we can package junk for big prospects... we WILL do that.
And I have some deals lined up. The goal is to get a **** big prospect, a couple of relievers/relief prospects, and make some room for better, young players than those that we have. This will cost us on-field performance, make no mistake. But we need to develop players for 2014+, 2013 is gone. Yes, with force, we can move things along by acquiring a lot of arms and replace guys like
Rosenthal,
Walden,
Duffy, and
Paxton with veteran arms, trading away prospects and stopping their development...
And with the way we performed against contenders... we would still fall short. This may sound pessimistic, but I don`t want one off playoff run... I want a contender that can win the division a number of times.

Jabari Blash won AAA PotW, batting 11-26 4HR 11RBI and could play in MLB soon...
Matt Chapman celebrated his professional debut by winning the A California League PotM, batting .423-11-21 with 17 runs scored and
Bobby Bradley won Northwest League PotW batting 12-26 5HR 9RBIs... some of our kids making some noise!
