I am ashamed to admit this, but Wilson beat us handily back in May. We scored 1 run on 6 hits and no walks with 7 strikeouts in 8 innings.

On the Hill: Bill Grant (30-L), after a perfect 7th. Mike Fox lines a hit to left center and gets bunted to 2nd. We walk Roy Zimdahl intentionally. Charlie Mackey clears the bases with a double to right center... 7 to 4, Whalers. The Bullpen gets up. We walk Larry Napoli intentionally, since it worked out so well last time... Raul Perez clears the bases with a double grounded over the 1st base bag and he ends up on 3rd... 9 to 4, Whalers. Call to the Bullpen: Barry Short (32-R). Bobby Scrogham is in to play 3rd in a double switch. Mike Tyra pops out to right and the runner holds. PH Diego Yanes (34-L), batting .270 with 2 HR and 7 RBI in 37 AB, is sent up. I concede that it is perfectly likely that he will get a hit, but pinch-hitting for the pitcher with 2 outs and a runner in scoring position against us is a dumb move, seeing has how they are now hitting .800 in that situation.... Yanes walks. Billy Ness flies out to right.
