May 21 - Ron Vanderpool (28-R) of Columbus pitched a 3 hit shutout at home versus Providence. he walked 2 and struck out 4. He is now 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 3 starts. He was 0-2 with a 4.82 ERA in 4 starts in A Ball before being called up. The Explorers won, 3 to 0.
May 23 - 1B Jose Fernandez (32-L) of Birmingham hit a double and a home run and had 5 RBI at Charlotte. The Barons won, 7 to 4.
May 24 - Jim Riggs (31-R) of Providence pitched a 3 hit shutout at home versus New Orleans. He walked 5 and struck out 10. 146 pitches. He is now 4-4 with a 2.53 ERA in 11 starts. The Steamrollers won, 2 to 0.
May 24 - Del Warwick (26-L) of Rochester pitched a 3 hit shutout at home versus Birmingham. He walked 2 and struck out 5. He is now 9-1 with a 2.35 ERA in 10 starts. The Roosters won, 6 to 0.
