June 1st 1950 Update
Philadelphia had killed the National League earlier in June but have cooled off a bit. The Washington Senators came roaring out and took their place in the American League
at Second place, while Detroit was not quite as hot. The Giants are trying to stay in the ballpark behind the Phillies. It is still early in the season, but Tigers' Johnny Groth is
trying to become the Leagues latest .400 hitter. The last person do that feat was Phillies' Cecil Travis in 1939, he hit .401.
