If you are 42 games above .500 I would say don't do anything.

But if your insistent on doing a trade I would say take the top guy.
The bottom guy has less eye so he is very dependent on BABIP for his OBP. And that can vary wildly.
The first guy while roughly the same contact hitter, even when he is not getting hits can still draw some walks and remain a more consistent run producer.

Also the age difference is deceiving, they are only 95 days apart in age.

And the most important thing. The first guy has close to 1500 PA against major league pitching and shown that can be produce.
The bottom guy as late as LAST SEASON was in single A ball as a 26 year old and was not exactly lighting it up.
Late into his age 27 year he got to face MLB pitching for the first time and he has been awful.
I would say he is a career AAAA player. Someone to bring up in September or for dire injury needs.

The first guy while not anywhere close to all-star level has at least shown with a significant sample size that he is a bit of a net positive on offense.

I don't even see this as being an argument.
If someone in an online league offered me anything of value for the second guy I would take it without hesitation.
He is a player in his late 20's I have given up on and just keep around on the AAA roster for emergencies.

So my suggestion would be

1. Don't do anything, your 42 games above .500 and the playoffs are always about luck more than anything.

2. Take the top guy if you can find a trade where you are not giving up a whole lot.
