Norwood Clinches Gold Crown
The Diamonders dropped their first two games yesterday to Annandale before Lefty Gomez held the Atom Smashers to one run on two hits over 6.1 innings allowing Norwood to salvage the last game of the series and give them just enough wins to clinch the OL Crown. I don't get to type this very often but the hottest team yesterday was Coney Island who tore off an 11-1 record.
As we hit the stretch run in PT play
Norwood had an 11-15 August which saw them lose their lead in the A
AC East. They are three games out of the lead and are pretty secure in the first wildcard spot.
Annandale (.5 back) and Asylum (2 back) are alive in the Central. One of them will have to win the division to make the post season. Asylum looked like they were making the run I predicted yesterday but then dropped seven of their last eight games yesterday.
Everything in the AC is happening in the Central. Brigadoon has three game lead over Coney Island. The teams meet four more times, the first meeting kicks off todays slate of games as the Warriors look to complete the three game sweep behind behind George Earnshaw while the Highlanders counter with Greg Maddux. The Warriors hold down the top wildcard while Krikkit is one game out of the second spot.
Jefferson Valley seems to be heading to silver next week.
