If you use the live start setup, then international leagues will either skip games before you start or might bump back the season.
Currently it looks like trying to use international leagues in the non-live short season may not work quite correctly, as they don't have their season start scheduled properly. For now you may need to manually adjust season schedules and events to get them working properly.
