That's a pretty small sample size on which to draw any conclusion. Your 98 Sisler has 1300 at bats in diamond with mixed results. The 97 barely got his uniform dirty, and we don't know the league/park context of either data set.
The 98 Sisler has 84 speed vs. 91 for the 97, so some of those additional baserunning XBH are taken away by slower speed. I doubt that it results in a "huge" difference in an equal league/park environment.
