I wasn’t worried about overpaying I was worried about sending an offer that’s too low. There is a 35 year old guy that had a good season but his ratings are very average, and he wants 5 years 18 mill each. I am willing to give him something much lower and shorter but worried he will be offended and break off communication, and someone else will get the same deal later when he lowers his expectations... but not sure if the mechanics work that way.
