The strategy page has sliders for things like run and hit or hit and run. You can customize but honestly I am not really sure what the effect is of just moving the slider up a bit. The out of the tin strategies are what I usually use. I like tactician which is more traditional to me. If you move the out of the can options you can really big differences in how your AI manager will manage a game going from Sabermetric to tactician. SABR tends to be more about safe play using more base running than stealing or hit and runs. While tactician is a lot more base stealing and run/hit and hit/run. Of course this affects how the pitching staff is handled too as well as infield and outfield shifts.

The strategy really determines what kind of players you want. High speed and stealing just isn't as good if you use a SABR strategy. High baserunning is vital for SABR and still important for tactician. I know SABR is the modern way but small ball or tactician is much more like the game was played when I was growing up in the late 70's and 80's. I have set rosters for a tactician strategy since OOTP 1 and honestly I haven't really thought out how to set rosters and lineups for a SABR strategy.

To me the SABR strategy seems like it would be lacking for an AI manager without the analysis departments providing real time info, I could be wrong. I play much more like the old school managers your experience tells something about a player given the situation vs. tons of data on the player and opposing pitcher or batter in a given situation.

The SABR settings seem much more like modern Front office playing a role in lineups and in game decisions vs. the manager using his experience to set lineups and make decisions. I don't think OOTP has fully involved with analytics to really immerse in a SABR strategy. I am not sure it should. It would be information overload I would probably never use to be able to pull up the pitcher vs. batter info in game, spray charts, etc. often used for strategy in today's game.
