You keep making an assumption that Germany = US in terms of pandemic conditions and response. That could not be further from the truth. Ideally, the US would have their poop together on this. You seem to be either assuming this is the case, or wishing it to be so because you miss your sports (which we all do). The situation, rather than ideal, is quite dire. As an ER doctor in Texas put it: "We are fighting two viruses, 1) COVID, and 2) STUPIDITY.

Given the intelligent, cautious response of your country, it was probably safe to go ahead and start up the Bundesliga, and I think (I wouldn't know for certain, because I don't follow it), it was a resounding success in terms of health. That's excellent, and reflects well on Germany in terms of listening to the science, and pulling together to get through this. Or as my now buried analogy went, getting through the broccoli before getting to dessert rather than throwing a hairy fit, and getting nothing. Yes, in an ideal world MLB, the NBA, and the NHL could get going again, but IMHO, this would be a disastrously dumb mistake to make at the moment. I mean Arizona had a 28% testing positivity rate just last week for goodness sake.
