Larry Sellers has really stepped up his game during the QMJHL playoffs with a whopping 34 points in only 22 games. The Islanders feature two strong scoring lines and two shutdown lines and a defence corps which consists of all crease-clearing or shutdown defencemen. Given the fact they only allowed 148 goals against in the regular season is a testament to their defensive fortitude. That number has bumped up during the playoffs but Charlottetown makes up for it by averaging 3.95 goals per game in the playoffs. Their goaltending isn't anything to write home about but with the strong defence in front of them, it makes the goalies job easy. Val D'Or and Acadie-Bathurst may have shown how to stop Charlottetown, we will see if other teams use that blueprint during the Memorial Cup. They have made the interesting decision to go with Brandon Tudin in net over Jonathan Jean despite Jean having better regular season stats and also seeing more playing time but the decision seems to have paid off.
