14 July 2296 - Three-way trade among Assaultrons, Mirelurks, and Bloodbugs
Three CBO teams made a multi-player trade just one day before the trade deadline to shore up their teams for the final weeks of the season.
The Warwick Mirelurks were in the middle of flipping players, with moving relief pitcher Zach DiGrande. DiGrande, the 24th-round pick of the Abernathy Adamantium, was traded to East Boston Prep on July 1. Today, he moved to County Crossing via Warwick through the three-team trade.
The Assaultrons moved DiGrande and backup second baseman Richman Harris to Warwick for relief pitcher Ray Housecat. Warwick then moved DiGrande and backup third baseman Nate Beech to County Crossing for reliever Tom Rose, the Bloodbugs' third-round pick.
DiGrande appeared in eight games, all with the Adamantium. In those eight games, he pitched 16.2 innings, allowing seven earned runs on 16 hits with 13 walks and 21 strikeouts. He was 1-0 with a 3.78 ERA.
Rose has a 1-2 record with a 3.86 ERA. He appeared in 13 games, allowing six earned runs on 23 hits with eight walks and 11 strikeouts in 14.0 innings pitched. The Mirelurks hope to be able to tap into his potential where County Crossing could not.
Beech appeared in 30 games, all as a backup. In those games, he went 6 for 30 for a .200 batting average with one double, three runs scored, three runs batted in, and two walks. He struck out six times.
Harris, the 24th pick for East Boston Prep, played in three games. He was 2 for 4 for a .500 batting average with one run scored and one batted in.
Housecat, Warwick's 15th-round pick, appeared in two games, allowing four earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts in two innings pitched for a 18.00 ERA.
