DCR Week 15 Series Recap
The Confidence Man Minute with Travis Miles
This is a transcript from Travis Miles’ post-game sign off of Game Three of the DCR Series of the Week.
Hi, baseball fans of the Commonwealth. This is Travis Miles with "The Confidence Man Minute." This weekend's series was not the thrilling series we hoped it would be, as the visiting Starlight Lady Killers completed the sweep today, beating the home team Concord Radstags 6-1 this afternoon at Nuka Park.
The big story is that the Lady Killers have moved themselves into first place in the Institute League, and now Abernathy needs a win tonight to remain a game behind. The Lady Killers are now 28-17, winning five straight now and nine of their last 10.
Sunshine Tidings could have made a move up to the top with a good series, but instead they are going to be in a tie for third place with Lexington at 23-22. The Chemists now trail Starlight by five games and Abernathy by two and a half with 15 left to play on the season.
For our standout performances of the weekend, let's start with Game 1. In that game, a 14-4 Starlight victory, Glenn Higinbotham went 4 for 6 with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored, and seven RBI.
In the Lady Killers' 11-4 victory in Game 2, Willie Qesadena was 2 for 3 with two home runs, a walk, three runs scored, and five runs produced.
Wild Cannon was Game 3's hero in the 6-1 victory today. He was 4 for 4 with three doubles, a home run, two runs scored, and two runs batted in.
Next week, we at Diamond City Radio get first choice of where we will travel for the broadcast. Our choice depends on the rest of the results, but we know these Lady Killers are traveling to Abernathy, so that looks to be the battle for the division, at least for right now. We will make an official announcement on tomorrow morning's radio show, "On the Brahmin's Back." Tune in to find out which exciting series we will cover. Otherwise, hear me then. Good night!
