Tourneys can be much, much more lucrative than a trickle if you are committed. I have been earning over 30k per week steadily since the end of April when I finished my teams.
If you want to play at the highest levels as FTP, it's key to focus hard on generating an income stream. Pretty much the only alternative to grinding tourneys is to work the auction house. So pick one of those and go hard.
