2296 Players of the Week - Week 13
BL - Star of the Week Awarded in BL: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Brotherhood League, but last week Sean Koester of the Salem Witch Hats reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Koester rocked opposing pitching for a .667 average (10-for-15), 1 home run and 3 RBIs to come away with the award.
In his stats this season, Koester has posted a batting average of .398 with 72 hits in 181 at-bats, 4 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has also scored 35 runs, walked 12 times and compiled a .439 OBP.
IL - Star of the Week Picked in IL: Skinny Danner burst onto the Institute League stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie right fielder for Starlight garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 27-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .615 (8-for-13) with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs last week.
This season Danner has hit at a .338 clip with 37 RBIs, 5 home runs and 38 runs scored.
ML - Star of the Week Honored in ML: It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Jeremy Nicholson, the University Point Deathclaws 17-year-old first baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Minutemen League Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 6 hits in 12 at-bats, compiling a .500 average with 3 home runs and 4 RBIs.
Currently Nicholson has 5 home runs and a .327 batting average.
RL - Juras Picked Best Player: His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Jason Juras was rewarded with the Railroad League Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Egret Scrappers third baseman hit .500 while collecting 7 hits in 14 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 RBIs.
So far this year Juras has 8 home runs and a .204 batting average.
