The absence of the multi-mission team rewards with endgame cards is really felt in this iteration. Earning a perfect Doc or Kershaw after hunting the AH for a month felt like an accomplishment. This year's model is artlessly geared toward getting whales to shell out for high-powered cards. That might be good for the business's bottom line, but if you bore/erode the f2p minnow base that feeds the whales you'll face long-term consequences.
The slot-machine nature of free packs via tournaments helps, but I doubt it's enough to retain interest in the long run. May be changes to come and better collection rewards, but at this point I'm comfortable saying PT21 has taken a significant step back from last year's edition.
